Research
My interest in Research grew stronger after being elected as Irish Reflexologist's Institute Research Coordinator and also inspired from attending european conferences.
I became a member of the RiEN Research Group in October 2001.I was nominated by Leila Eriksen(Denmark) onto the RiEN Research group. Reflexology in Europe Network (RiEN) has done alot for spreading the word on research and enhancing reflexology networking on a european level, by gathering reflexologists together for conferences and meetings.
I was also motivated by International Council of Reflexologists (ICR) and in particular found the ICR's September 2001 world conference, held in Rome most inspiring.I encourage others through networking to develop their role in researching reflexology for the benefit of this therapy. Hopefully one day Reflexology shall be integrated into our modern health care system.
The Irish Reflexologist's Institute Research Board was set up in November 2001 following my attendace at Manchester's Clinical Reflexology Conference October 2001, to help support research in Ireland.
I was Chair of the Irish Reflexologist's Institute Research Board who's aims are to encourage and support the development of quality reflexology research in Ireland through co-ordinating up-dated reports, providing guidelines and workshops so as to educate and enhance professional reflexology into the health care field.
We also developed a Reflexology Research Guide in a Coloured A3 size Poster format, for distribution among those interested in doing research and also it is helping to fund research available on request.
